About Our Team

Dr. Omid Mavedati earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Urmia University in 2013. He later completed advanced clinical training at the University of Tehran, becoming a Board-Certified Veterinary Specialist with a strong focus on surgical excellence.

To further his expertise, Dr. Mavedati was accepted as a Visiting Scholar in the Veterinary Ophthalmology Department at Texas A&M University, where he received specialized training in advanced ophthalmic (eye) surgery and diagnostic techniques.

He began his professional career as an Emergency Veterinarian in Regina, Saskatchewan, working in a fast-paced emergency hospital environment. In 2019, he moved to British Columbia, where he has been practicing across the Lower Mainland ever since.

In 2021, Dr. Mavedati founded Beach Avenue Animal Hospital in Downtown Vancouver, a modern, full-service veterinary clinic known for its state-of-the-art technology, compassionate care, and commitment to treating every pet like family.

With over 8,000 successful surgical procedures performed, Dr. Mavedati is highly regarded for his surgical precision, deep compassion for animals, and dedication to advancing veterinary medicine in the community. Dr. Omid also has a strong clinical interest in pet allergies and dermatology, helping diagnose and manage chronic skin, ear, and environmental allergy conditions.

Beyond the clinic, Dr. Mavedati is also a former national water polo champion, having represented Iran’s National Water Polo Team and earning a gold medal in 2006. His discipline and teamwork in sports continue to inspire his approach to veterinary care every day.

Hastinaz has loved animals for as long as she can remember, which naturally led her to a career in veterinary care. With over five years of experience in both primary and emergency veterinary centers across Vancouver, she now serves as the Practice Manager at Beach Avenue Animal Hospital. Drawing on her background as a Veterinary Technician and Assistant, Hastinaz combines creativity, organization, and problem-solving to keep the clinic running efficiently while ensuring an exceptional client and patient experience.

Since settling in Vancouver, she has fallen in love with the city’s welcoming, pet-friendly community. At home, she shares her life with PomPom, her adorable Persian cat inspired by Cinderella II. Calm, compassionate, and imaginative, Hastinaz is dedicated to creating a warm, caring environment where every pet and owner feel truly valued.

Tegan is a compassionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant with over six years of experience in veterinary clinics across the Lower Mainland. Fear Free Elite certified, she is passionate about creating calm, positive experiences for every patient, from administering treatments and assisting in surgery to providing gentle care during recovery.

She has a strong background in animal health and clinic operations, including injections, monitoring vitals, lab testing, sterilization, and inventory management. Tegan is known for her warmth, excellent communication skills, and genuine love for animals, ensuring both pets and their owners feel comfortable and cared for.

When she’s not at the clinic, Tegan enjoys cooking, exploring nature, playing video games, and spending time with her own pets.

Tristan joined the Beach Avenue Animal Hospital team with a strong passion for animal welfare and a deep commitment to compassionate care. Having gained valuable hands-on experience while volunteering alongside a veterinarian in Africa, she brings both skill and heart to her work. Tristan is known for her calm, patient approach and her ability to stay composed under pressure. Her keen attention to detail and dedication to continuous learning make her a trusted and valued member of our team, as well as a true advocate for the animals in her care.
At home, Tristan enjoys spending time with her cat, Lou, a curious and cuddly companion who reminds her daily why she loves working with animals.

Meet Amanda, the experienced and gentle soul who will pamper your pet at Beach Avenue Animal Hospital! With over a decade under her belt, she’s the pro you want by your furry friend’s side.

From routine vaccines and nail trims to tricky situations like matted fur and bloodwork, Amanda handles it all with a smile and a calming touch. She’s Dr. Mavedati’s trusted partner, standing beside him in surgeries and keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

But don’t be fooled by her dedication! Amanda has a soft spot for all animals, especially her own fur family, five adorable cats! So if you see her cuddling a kitty (like adorable Hunter in the picture!), don’t hesitate to join in the petting party!

This four-and-a-half-year-old furball loves life, with napping, swimming, and running high on her list (especially if snacks are involved!).

She’s always happy to make new friends, so be prepared for a shower of puppy love if you drop by the clinic! Dr. Omid takes good care of all her checkups, making sure she stays healthy and happy.
